Re: [Voyage-linux] IMQ - to kernel iptables

2006-09-24 Thread Kim-man 'Punky' TSE

Hi all,

The latest voyage-current include the following patches.
- linux-2.6.17-imq1.diff (IMQ)
- kernel-2.6.17-layer7-2.5.patch (Layer7 v2.5)
- From freewrt:
   - 004-extra_optimization.patch
   - 101-ipp2p_0.8.1rc1.patch
   - 105-netfilter_time.patch
   - 200-sched_esfq.patch

However, iptables for the corresponding netfilter patches are not
ready. It requires extra efforts for building patched iptables.

If you have any patches want to added in voyage kernel, please provide a
CLEAR instruction in the list or in the wiki, so that I can reproduce it
in voyage kernel builds.

Regards,
Punky

Hi Cool,

If you really care to have IMQ in voyage kernel, please kindly send
me the instruction on how to patch the kernel.

As far as I know, only kernel patch is not enough, it needs iptables
patch as well. But you should know, I try not to maintain a
separate iptables build in voyage, unless more and more people wants
some special features in iptables (e.g. layer7).
For the mirror, please send me your CZ mirror IP address in private
mail so that I can assign an alias in the DNS.

Next idea is: Implement config script for IPbanD to voyage-linux,

Hi Cool,

Show me a clear instructions and I will do it for your favour.
Like openswan support, Hermann worked with me closely to get
openswan userland and module in voyage.

But I had tested wondershaper in voyage-0.2. And it worked as
expected.
