Now that 2.7 has gone gold, and great job with that btw, does development of 2.8 start straight away? Since the .1 .2 versions are made only to fix security flaws and etc aren't they? Development on 2.8 will start straight away, Well, to an extent. Many of the core devs will be busy dealing with bugs for 2.7.1 (Hopefully there wont be too many of them..) I would say the next week will be slower on 2.8.. and mainly deciding what to get done for 2.8/etc. As for the auto-updates to 2.8, If your WP version reads '2.7' you'll only get stable updates from here on in (ie. 2.7.1), Updating the version to 2.8-bleeding or whatever is chosen when 2.8 starts, would put you on the updating to the nightlies again.. Assuming the nightlies are run the same as they have for 2.7 testing. Its highly unlikely the wp-version will be updated as often as it has been this past month, since the version updates were a manual thing. It depends on what the core devs decide.. Hello All, First things First congratulations on 2.7! Great work! I found a little bug that appears when using quick press. When I try to upload a pix the media up loader will show but the Wordpress stats will overlap the Media up loader. I uploaded a print screen on http://www.eelcomartens.nl/bug.jpg I'm using WP 2.7 on Google's grome. [wp-testers] New look of tables in class wrap
Am I the only one that doesn't like the lack of styling for tables inside of divs with class of wrap? As I was testing things out for the past couple of months, I just assumed that this was a temporary situation and that the styling would be taken care of later. Instead, it stayed the same resulting in a bunch of text in varying grid layouts with not background contrast to differentiate and group elements. It may look clean, but I find the lack of contrast to create a mash of options rather than a logical flow of options and data. If you look at tables with a class of widefat, the flow of information is extremely easy to follow, very nice looking, and matches with the styling. The same cannot be said for the new look of tables inside of wrap. A good example of a page that shows this issue well is the Writing Settings page. Rather than having background contrast differences separating and grouping elements, we now have very subtle vertical and horizontal padding differences to indicate logical relationships. I am having trouble installing 2.7 on a client site. It's currently at 2.6.5. When I do a manual upgrade everything goes white, front and back end. I can't get 2.7 installed. I have been in contact with the host and we can't figure it out. Other installs on the same host are fine. [wp-testers] Problems with CForms
Just wondering if anyone else uses CForms and has noticed that it has stopped submitting. It just shows one moment please but then doesn't submit the email. No I didn't. I will try that way, but haven't had any issues with not disabling plugins on other sites all through the 2.7 development process. Hmmm, I was told (sorry can't recall which developer it was) that plugins didn't need to be deactivated when auto-upgrading, that WP was reloaded and stopped before any of the plugins loaded. At that time the upgrade process would begin. Once it was finished then another reload occurred which carried through any DB upgrade that might be needed and then the reload would complete. I think they may have been referring to the auto-upgrade from one dev version of 2.7 to another (??). This one is a 2.6.5 to 2.7 upgrade, so there could be some plugins that are causing an issue. Doing this upgrade via FTP? If you're going straight from 2.6.5 to 2.7 by doing a good old fashioned upgrade then deactivating plugins is a must. The 2.7 auto-upgrade through dev builds and to the final is supposed to be able to be run with out deactivating plugins. Me too. It was driving me crazy I tell ya... Now I have a different problem, but only on some installations: On both this new installation and my personal installation with a different host, I can't expand the Other Wordpress News module on the dashboard. But I can expand it on another installation on my same host. I've tried hard refreshing, I have wp supercache on my personal installation and have cleared that. Still no expansion of Other Wordpress News module. After I upgraded to 2.7 gold, my stats dashboard widget went blank. There's just nothing there. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling.
