[WSG] Menu sits above the line in IE - anyone see why?

2005-02-03 Thread Mike Kear
I've been trying to figure this one out for a while now, and I can't
see what's wrong. (I'm learning - but painfully slowly it seems) The
top navigation menu sits where it's supposed to in Firefox (the bottom of
the menu should touch the top of the white 'content' area) but in IE it's
about 20pixels higher. Can anyone see where I've got it
wrong? I've tried everything I can think of but obviously
havent found the right tweak yet.
The page is at http://staging.atalkingdog.com/goArticle.cfm?pid=799713
and the CSS is at http://staging.atalkingdog.com/styles/atalkingdog3.css

In Firefox/Win and Opera8/Win you can if Flash has WMODE enabled.
On Linux and in older browser versions WMODE is not supported and plugins

An alternative that is doing the same thing, and will function as that one,

All of the nice vertical lists I have found with the help of Listmatic as

Any help appreciated, and I hope I make sense, but the hours has been long

 Felix
I know about the juicy studio tool i use it on a daily basis,
there is also one from HP at
http://h10014.www1.hp.com/accessibility/color_tool.html
the reason why the exe was developed was to allow colour sampling which
cannot be done using an online application.
which saves me time trying to find the values of colours used on a page.
It also gives results for various types of colour blindness which currently
no online tool does.

[WSG] Gap between content and nav on events page in Firefox, looks fine in IE6

2005-02-03 Thread Leslie Riggs
What gives? I have this small two-page site up for testing right now:
 http://www.theonlineworks.com/test/wiscrad/index.html
The index page is fine but the events page shows a gap between the nav
and the content area. This is in windows, FF1.0. IE6 shows both pages
just fine.

The CSS is here:
 http://www.theonlineworks.com/test/wiscrad/css/mainstyles.css
Validated XHTML 1.1, CSS validated too. I probably have been deep into
this so long I can't see the problem.. Any suggestions will be deeply
appreciated.
