Re: [XFree86] Dell Flat Panel 1800FP, nothing comes up
Thanks for the help. I added that option to my Monitor Section. Where would I find options like the one you mentioned documented? I don't mind RTFMing, but I don't know where the manual is. Now the monitor doesn't go into power saving mode, but nothing is displayed, I still have a blank/black screen. The X processes (X server, fvwm, xinit, xterm, etc) are all running, but nothing is displayed. Any other ideas to try? Are my default modelines OK? On the RedHat version it has modelines in the config, should I copy them over and try those? -- Here are the modelines from the log (**) NV(0): Default mode 1024x768: 94.5 MHz, 68.7 kHz, 85.0 Hz (II) NV(0): Modeline 1024x768 94.50 1024 1072 1168 1376 768 769 772 808 +hsync +vsync (**) NV(0): Default mode 800x600: 56.3 MHz, 53.7 kHz, 85.1 Hz (II) NV(0): Modeline 800x600 56.30 800 832 896 1048 600 601 604 631 +hsync +vsync (**) NV(0): Default mode 640x480: 36.0 MHz, 43.3 kHz, 85.0 Hz (II) NV(0): Modeline 640x480 36.00 640 696 752 832 480 481 484 509 -hsync -vsync -- Thanks, David Shifflett Here is the output of the command 'startx': Is the error/warning 'Input Method Open Failed' a problem or something to be ignored? - XFree86 Version 4.2.0 (for OpenBSD) / X Window System (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6600) Release Date: 23 January 2002 If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is newer than the above date, look for a newer version before reporting problems. Re: [XFree86] Dell Flat Panel 1800FP, nothing comes up
The nv driver in 4.2.0 didn't support flat panels. Run one of the 4.2.99.x snapshots and put: Option FlatPanel in the Section Device. Mark.
