Looking for information on system performance while using a 7100 with an G3
upgrade card. How well does an upgraded 7100 run OS X, and OS 9. Are there
any software issues with using these cards?
Anyone out there running one of these cards, how is your system doing? Is it

G3 machines have gotten a lot cheaper. i'd look into a cheap g3. the 7100, even with
a
g3 upgrade will still have a slow memory bus, slow drives (and not able to use cheap
ata
drives), and the nubus implementation is very slow on the 7100, plus of course it's
nice
to be able to use pci cards
I am running a 300 MHz Sonnet Crescendo in my 7100, and the performance difference is
very noticeable. So far I haven't had any problems with it, including the video
pass-through. However, with the 7100's memory limitations, there is only so much
benefit a processor upgrade is going to do for
