I'm sure I don't have the biggest, but I use a Seagate Barracuda 5GB...
works perfectly, it's the double-size HDD, and it fits great in the case...
no problems whatsoever...

I think you might get them to work again... I did... what the prob was? no
idea... maybe really just some dust short-circuit, or I have no clue...

thanks to all of you for the infos. I'll be searching for a used one now...
better a cheap one, so if anyone wants to get rid of an old one
what should be the least I can buy to be able to see a movie (can I hope of
DivX, or is VCD/DVD the best I can get)?
thanks,

do I have any chance to run OsX (only for test purposes, so I'm not bothered
if it's very slow) on a PowerMac 7100/66 (NuBus)? I can upgrade Ram to the
maximum and have a PDS video card...
if yes, what version can I run up to?
tks,

don't have the bus or processor supported, that's no use :)

w it looks like, as I have almost no software, and so I can't use it for
programming/video capture, though it is in the multimedia rooms (and I'm
actually studying multimedia)...
tks!

t let me have it... I suppose I can do whatever I
want with it, as long as it remains in the room it is in :) Guess they have
it in the papers and can't just give it away... though there's no one using
it (don't know why it's even there... lies around since 2000 or earlier...)
eginner in Macs, though, and might be wrong :)

hello!
you wrote some days ago about stuff for the 8500...
Since we have Easter here in Romania in a few days, I will leave then for
Germany, and would like to ask you if the proposal is still standing to send
stuff for the 8500, and if yes, hw we should do it...
thanks,

The question
yes, I meant native support in the OS, without any other
tools/extensions/programs...
just MacOs on the PC and I was able to read FAT-formatted floppies

very interested in the solution u provide to making the drive visible. can u
explain it for someone like me, that uses the Mac only every now and then?
I have MacOs 8.5 when this happens.

btw: where do you get toners? my supplier doesn't seem to be able to bring
