your system only has MusiXTeX installed. (They are quite
different---MusicTeX
was the original version, MusiXTeX is the current version, and they handle
the tex code differently. Abc2mtex can write code for both.) Try

I thought I'd give the original abc2mtex a try, but can't make it work.
Here's my abc test file:
--- begin test.abc ---
X:1
T:Test
M:4/4
L:1/4
K:C
CDEF | GED2 |
--- end test.abc ---
Running abc2mtex test.abc gives me the following music.tex:
--- begin music.tex ---
\def\abcmusix{N}
\input
Then I'm not sure what to do, but running both musixtex and tex on
music.tex gives the folowing errors:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] abc2mtex]$ musixtex music.tex
This is TeX, Version 3.14159 (Web2C 7.4.5)
