I currently have three of the L700-380 w/ 8 DLT7000 drives. In the two years we have had them I have had one robotic failure. That seemed to be due to a possible shipping issue. I have had a couple of tape drive problems but those were due to a bad lot of DLT tapes. The L700 jukebox itself seems

One of our client nodes was set up incorrectly. A datawarehouse was backing up 130 GB nightly instead of monthly. Is there a way of deleting individual backup sets (i.e. last night's, last week's, etc.) like you can with deleting archive data, or is the only option to remove the filespace

This actually isn't a very easy question to answer, and I'm not sure how useful this data would be. Files from a single node can be bound to multiple management classes, so you would have to check each file. If you really want to let your TSM database grind away for a while, you can try this,

I find the best way to start TSM via TSO is to create a REXX pgm and allocated the required DDs within the rexx. This is based on the belief that the that the required DD's are rarely allocated in your TSO logon proc due to the limitted number of peple requiring access to the server line command.
