The DMG file is a macOS disk image. It cannot be used under Linux, and
neither can the software contained within it.

Yes, I have made that very clear to the team. Suggestions for test
scenarios are welcome of course - a good way to experiment might be to see
how the current version of pgAdmin (which uses the new CodeMirror code)
manages to mess up syntax highlighting of anything weird.

BTW, if we do figure out a way of doing this that we all agree is safe, I'm
going to want to see a bunch of automated tests against valid EPAS and PG
queries, as weird and bizarre as we can think of.

No, it’s still there:

w would pgAdmin know what state is intentional and what
isn't, or when to wait for a transaction to end (or not) before doing
something else such as updating a dashboard?
So, I understand the problem from the UX perspective, but I don't think
it's feasible for a tool like pgAdmin to hand

High Sierra is very old now, and not supported by pgAdmin I'm afraid.
We currently support 10.15 (Catalina) and lat
cursor() as cur:
... cur.execute("SELECT version()")
... cur.fetchone()
...
('PostgreSQL 15.2 (Homebrew) on x86_64-apple-darwin22.3.0, compiled by
Apple clang version 14.0.0 (clang-1400.0.29.202), 64-bit',)
I've raised that with the psycopg devs:
https://github.com/psycopg/psycopg/issues/561
Thanks!
