Hi,
We just ordered a StorageTEK 9730 Automated Tape Library.
It comes with a 30 cartridge capacity and 2 DLT drives.
We plan to run this with Amanda vers 2.4.3 on our Solaris 6 Sparc E6500.
I have a couple questions/requests:
Is anyone out there running a config like the one I just

Hi,
does any has experiences with amanda and sun(storagetek) sl24 or better
sl48 with 2 lto4 tape drives?
the tape drives are normal lto4 tape drive from HP.
Or can I simply take the configuration from the "Arcvault 48 - HP LTO4-800
tape"?

Hi
We have linux lodged under VM on a Mainframe IBM. We wish to safeguard
these linux on material STK (Storagetek).
Know if AMANDA can compete with products such as FDR/UPSTREAM or NETBACKUP
for this kind of safeguard on large system??

We just purchased a Oracle/Sun StorageTek SL24, SCSI, with HP LTO4 FH tape
drive.
Does anyone use this model unit. If so could you send me your tapetype for the
LTO4 drive.

I did had this message also as I tried to load a tape which had the

I'd be interested in reading some of your comments regarding these units...
Which one would you recommend above all others? Do they behave well with
Amanda, mtx, etc.
Thanks!

I'm getting this error when I try to use the tapes (LTO1) on a

Right now I'm considering either the Dell ML6000 line or the
StorageTek SL150, if that makes any difference.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.

LTO4 ($4,600 per drive and $100 per
tape) and LTO 3 ($2,700 per drive and $50 per tape), I would go with LTO3
because you get the same price per GB of data on tape, but spend less money
upfront with LTO3.
You can get an excellent StorageTek SL24 (24 tape slots) autoloader for
$7,000 from Sun, and you
