I have done every single step exactly as David outlined and still have no
success in connecting TOS to AB. I tested on Excel and DDE is working from TOS,
but somehow it just keeps saying WAIT in AB.
Can anyone help?

Does the timeliness of data from TOS to Amibroker get delayed significantly due
to the DDE interface?
I am considering using it for day trading of eminis.
Thanks

I am trading eminis using 400t charts on TOS. I have successfully connected
a new AB database to TOS vis the DDE interface. It is connected, even
though several others have had trouble connecting.
timeliness does not seem to be the issue. I can watch the Quote Editor (on
one monitor)
Ken, I am not a tick watcher or trader so this is probably a suggestion
you've already considered. Do you have thinkDesktop quote speed set to
Real-time - No delay? I am wondering if the other, delayed settings somehow
compress ticks.
Warm regards,
David

Ken,
You answered my question directly, but the issue you are facing is obviously
more severe .. and as you say it is useless if the candles are different.
I have the same understanding as you, about the candle formation for tick
charts.
It is possible that TOS consolidates trades for export

I have used eSignal previously it works very well with AB. I have iqfeed now,
but have not tried tick data.

Keith: thanks, I found it. Forgot it was there..
Now, see my recent message on tick chart anomaly as displayed candles change
on the left and middle of the chart as new ticks are added.

Thanks for the doc file with instructions. I just got my TOS data stream
flowing into Amibroker.
Did you find any way to backfill? Or did you just have to collect data each
day until you had enough to make indicators useful, etc?
Any other tricks? For example, I use 400 tick charts
You're welcome, Ken. Glad to hear the instructions worked for you.
I don't believe there's currently a way to backfill from thinkorswim. I'm
pushing thinkorswim for backfilling and trading integration with AmiBroker.
As you are probably aware, TOS does have historical data back to 12/27/02,

You can have what ever ticks you want. Use the Preferences Icon (looks
like a gear).
