You did not say if you work with IB or something else.
Anyway, you could find useful tips here...

Hi,
Let me know if you want to copy all the AFL formulas into word. I have a
VBA macro to copy a subdirectory full of AFL into word with an
hypertext table of contents. Tested under Word 2003 and XP.
Easier to search a comment, a function etc.
I will test it under Word 2007 next week-end.
I tried this too, but was not successful.
I think it does not work. But would be a great feature which Tomasz could maybe
implement in the future.

Is the AmiBroker software a viable platform to day trade The ESMINI.
Hello,
Hmm... the only reason for backup utilities in Metastock is the fact
that their formulas are NOT stored as plain text files.
In AmiBroker such problem does not exist because formulas *are* plain
text files stored in ordinary folder (Formulas).
So copy entire Formulas folder (with all
I agree. CTRL-r opens the parameter windows but that it where

you must use the mouse.
A work-around may be to store and read your parameters from a file and
modify the file. But that is slow because you have

Thank's for your answer , for what I see it's ok for all the directory except
the custom one who is the one where my formula are stored, the one we can be
interested to import if we have a crash and export by security.
For what I read until now it's not easy as just a copy with explorer.
This depends on what is meant by viable and intraday trading platform.
AmiBroker is an excellent charting, quote, back-testing, and scanning platform
and a usable automation platform for Interactive Brokers with a good bit of
programming. It works well with a real-time datafeed. However many
I will kindly disagree with you.
DDE server was the best solution for me and works perfectly. It is much better
than any live feeds I tryed. Why? Because I live in Brazil and eSignal data is
terrible for our market. The only concern about it is the fact we do not have a
backfill option.
Hi seniors
Is there any development on mestastockpluginn of Amibroker to make it handle
data of 5 second interval?
A friend of mine uses mspluginn and imports data. he keeps waiting for next
minute price on his chart.
On asking he said,this pluginn can give only data with 1 minute interval,no
Antonio,my fellow trader
Well, there are exceptions and you are using one and without backfill, life
wont be easy.

Yes, you are right.
The solution I found was to import data from another source to the database
untill the day I began to use the DDE.
Since then, all the atualization is done by the DDE server.
But I totally agree that a real time feed is the best option.

Imagine this simple system:
Rule: Stock's close is above MA(50)
If rule is fulfilled, send a limit order, 2% below yesterday close.
AFL Code:
/***
//Stock above MA
Rule1=Ref(Close,-1)MA(Ref(Close,-1),50);
//Stock drops 2%
I have been using Hermans excellent info on keying static variables, found
here:
http://www.amibroker.org/userkb/2007/04/21/using-a-static-variable-key/
However, I started a new DB today, and now the code is failing on me. I keep
getting the error:
Stock Breakout2

lnlndicator=
PositionScore uses the current bar by default. Which is looking forward. So...
PositionScore = Ref( ROC( Close, 40 ), - 1 );
You can confirm this for yourself by looking at the individual trades using the
Detail Log report.
Don't think this answers your question, but using the Detail Log
Thanks Herman,
I've isolated it to another variable, unrelated to your code. The system
failed to send an order to IBController due to the number of shares variable
doing something stupid.
My whole system is going awry today. It's sending orders when the buy signal
is not triggered. Very wierd.
If all you want to do is search (or replace) within the AFLs, there are a
number of free programs that do this. The one that I'm presently using is
TextCrawler.

Yahoo does provide adjusted split/dividend data for their historical data.
So, if downloading historical the downloader should be able to handle this
adjustment to the database.

The correct location of the vertical lines depends on what is selected in
Tools/Preferences/Intraday: If END time of interval is selected the
vertical lines location is correct; if Start time of interval is selected
the StartTime and EndTime bars are shifted 1 bar to the right. The easiest

Herman,
My Svkey is the same as your code:

global* SVKey;
SVKey = Name()+NumToStr(GetChartID(),1.0,*False*);
This is what you mean, yes?
So I will get a different key with each chart.
