What I understand from this page is that you can localize your OWN
app. How should one participate in translating of an internal app (ie.
input method Android keybord)? Also, would it be difficult to
develop/install a new locale?

Hi all, i made an app in Traditional Chinese. and now i want to make
it in Simplified Chinese too. so i guess i should use the locale zh-TW
for traditional chinese and zh-CN for simplified chinese.
but for the strings.xml, it only allows values-zh but NOT for values-
zh-rTW and values-zh-rCN. so
Guys, Im using a HTC Hero and downloaded MoreLocale from Market. It
seems to change the locale on my Hero with no problems. seems to work
fine with the L10nDemo app although it exposes a few flaws.

I have localized strings at res/values-de/strings.xml and res/values-
es/strings.xml . When I test different locales in the Simulator, the
localized strings show up correctly.
However, when I upload the app to the Market, it says 'Localized to:
unknown'. Has anybody else had the same problem and
I have two questions about localization.
First, can I control which strings should to be localized and which
shouldn't be?
I asked this question since it complains when some strings are
not set to be localized in class TextView and Button (at least I
noticed).

What's the best way to refer to Android resource IDs from a SQLite

For instance if I have a category table with cols id, and
category_name. Right now I store a default English name in
category_name, but I'd also like to be able to localize that when I
display it in the UI.

im using a localized widget
im loading a my own localized font to the widget (on the desktop)
but i didnt find a way yo load an asset to a textview from a remote
view
maybe im looking in the wrong direction
is it posible to set font to widgets ? and if so how is it done on
runtime or xml based
I want test my app in different language. Currently I am able to
change the language of the emulator 1.5 and my app starts showing
strings for that language but when i type in the edit box it still
shows english. Do I have to change some code so that my edit box n
everything else supports
in case not everyone noticed, this article has been updated and now

Setting the locale in /data/locale as described here doesn't work for
me in 1.1 R1. Has the process changed? This used to work for me in
pre-1.1 releases.
