IUP uses the older version of Ariel 3.x something, and we have troubles with
tiff files from time to time. We will get an error message that the tiff is an
invalid format. In those cases, I 'reprint' the tiff file using the Microsoft
Office Document Image Writer function on my computer, save it
I have the same problems sometimes with tifs.
Try 'reprinting' the tif with the Microsoft Document Image Writer and save the
file as a tif wherever you save such. Try sending that file and it should work.

Do you have an Odyssey IP address for the Wellesley Free Library (WPF)? There
is no Odyssey IP address listed for them in their OCLC Policy Directory.

If you want to be able to move more articles thru Ariel, why not simply scan
the articles from any other scanner, save to a shared network drive, then
import and send thru the Ariel computers you have when they are available.

The archive window is still there, just hidden behind the other windows.
Go to the Window tab at the top and arrange the windows by Tiling them or
cascading them and you will see the archive window again.

I think it depends on the scanner?
We have to close the Ariel on the station using Fujitsu scanner because Ariel
does not like to share with Odyssey, but the station using a Ricoh scanner
shares just fine.

IUP has been running Ariel on a VISTA machine since 2008. However I am
concerned about its viability in Windows 7 and have been trying to research the
possibility of it not running in 7 because we are to convert soon. We use the
3.whatever version of Ariel due to support and operating issues.
I received an email from one library that you can open Windows XP within
Windows 7 to run programs that need XP to function.
This is the link I was given to the MicroSoft site explaining it:

IUP has been using Article Exchange with great success so far.
It is convenient to deliver articles to those borrowers who do not use either
Odyssey or Ariel.

If it is like our situation, Ariel does not like sharing Fujitsu scanners with
Odyssey.
We have the same problem with our Ariel and Odyssey and the Fujitsu scanner;
no problems with our RICOH scanner.
You just have to make sure Ariel is closed when you use Odyssey.

Apologies for cross-posting
Hello all,
Our department is temporarily moving while our space is reconfigured.
As a result, IUP will be a non-supplier beginning later today (7/19) through
early next week.
During our move Ariel will also be unavailable, so please deliver to IUP via
Odyssey,
