Whether it is accurate or not depends on the definition of 'call', as has already been pointed out in this thread. Why don't you make a call, and watch the network traffic with tcpdump, wireshark or similar? Wireshark in particular has an analysis module that will show you a summary of each network conversation by source and destination IP and port and protocol, as well as a handful of analyzers developed specifically for IP telephony. Just some points: UDP and RTP are not exclusive; RTP operates over UDP. Voice calls do not require 4 UDP ports (in most cases). FAX calls rarely use RTP. -- Kevin P.
