The best reason to support an ICAO aligned licence is that it enables us to
glide internationally pretty much in the same way as we would visiting
another club in Australia. If we are sufficiently competent a check ride is
all that's needed to fly solo.

Firstly, you need to run the wheel through water and note the variation in
brake effectiveness.
If nothing is noted disassemble the hub and spray Lithium grease onto both
the outer surface of the pads and inside of the drum.
After reassembling the wheel re-check the brake effectiveness.
