Multiple XSP Processors in Pipeline

I cannot get multiple XSP processors to execute in a pipeline. Here's the first part. index.cml (the first one) works fine, but handle-request.xml is never executed. I'm on AxKit v1.7, but got the same behavior in 1.6.2. ?xml version=1.0? ?xml-stylesheet href=NULL type=application/x-xsp?
