What a delight!! What a great, old fashioned Berner event! And the weather cooperated
in an unbelievable way - holding off showers for the 2 hours we needed to enjoy the
SPECTACULAR scenery overlooking the Hudson River.Talk about beginners luck!!

Thanks for opening up this valuable conversation with your question about the cost of
keeping a Berner - healthy or not.It's the kind of issue that once you has fallen in
love with a dog (or person, horse or car)most of us don't necessarily care to examine.
I would encourage any
Do we go back to basics, clicking and rewarding (with
treats) the sits, etc so that he starts to associate
the click with the treat? Or should I just use the
clicker for new tricks? Or should I just wait and use
it from Day 1 with my next Berner?

Brenda Abrams called this to my attention. No Berners that we know of but not out of
the realm of possibility.A sad story, ironic that he was the Dog Control officer(!!)
