Is there a way to look at Blackberry attributes on a exchange mailbox
using MFCMapi or MDBVue32? Can you see what BES server an exchange
mailbox is connected to?

Apparently there is a glitch in the Bold where it won't automatically
pick up the time zone overseas. We had an OMT member in Rome and his
Bold wasn't automatically setting the time for Rome. Is anyone aware of
the fix for this?
Thanks

I thought that none of the BlackBerry's automatically picked up time zones.

It's not a glitch. No BlackBerry device automatically adjusts the time zone,
This has always been a manual setting.

OS 5.0.0.230 and above does this. It does not however work properly in
argentina as they discontinued the DST for this year.

We had this happen a long time ago as well. I believe if I sent another link
to the user via email, they could get into their browser. It's been a while
though.

Can your BES itself browse the web without any issues?

Subject: [Bes-admins] Internet Error
That's correct. We noticed this as well. However this was after the change to
the browser config from bb browser to Internet browser.

My SQL team suggested setting ours up to use Log shipping. Do you think
that is sufficient? This way the data is not replicated real time but
you can set that often. I am thinking that will probably be okay as our
data doesn't really change frequently. I just don't know if with log
shipping if the
I've never liked log shipping, and I don't think that it's supported by RIM.
You might want to check on that.
I don't believe you'll have an invisible hands-off failover with that setup
either.
If the database goes down, there will be minimal impact to users. You can run
BES without a DB
Thank you so much. This is the information I was looking for. I will
check with RIM to see if they support Log shipping. And I did want a
transparent cutover. I'm glad to know mail flow will not be affected.
Good to know not to restart services. I really appreciate your quick
response.!!!
Check with support.blackberry.com and look for a BES 5.0 planning guide. They
go into a lot of detail on what options they have for SQL DB mirroring and
other redundancy options.

Is there a way i can force the internet (Browser) traffic on the blackberrys to
use the mobile network rather then our corporate internet connection?

Ah, interesting. Most folks want it the other way. (We want our traffic to
go through our network so we can filter it.)
In the IT Policy on the BES I only see the options for disabling all
browsing and for disabling the Internet browsing icon (but nothing for
disabling the internal browser.)
