Sorry, here comes more information:
The installer j602abeta_win.exe starts and the window Jsoftware J602
Install opens. Pressing the Next-button brings orders to install
vcredist_x86.exe (I have already installed). Pressing OK closes the
window without installation.

I think the grid verb is superb and I would like to see more examples in the
documentation about its uses and then especially the left argument.

Yes, that is exactly what I want to achieve (and I
think correct and appropriate behavior).
Unfortunately not the j602 behavior.

I think that jfe (j or jconsole) itself does not change the cwd which can be

I tested and am happy to confirm the issue with locked script crash

BTW, I also tested and found no problem in gl2 printing.

Joey:
My apologies.
I was so sure that it worked that I skimped on my tests when you raised the
issue.
A symlink to jconsole does not work when moved to a folder in PATH and
invoked with just its name. This is not the intended or advertised behavior.
I will dig into this to see what can
Joey and all Unix gurus,
Background is that I wante J Unix install to be able to work as follows:
1. everything (JFE, JE, etc.) in the J folder
2. no sudo move of anything elsewhere
3. no admin/root privilege required
4. no environment variables used or required
This requires the JFE to be able
In the Debug windows highlightning of current line is in wrong
position if there are umlaut characters in the script. I wished that
this will be fixed in J602, but the error remains here in the beta.
For me this makes debugging sometimes very difficult.
It is also very difficult to avoid

That said, I think it is generally a bad idea to put the J directory in PATH.
I am not sure I see why you think this.
If the J directory is added to the end of PATH, what problems
arise which can not arise in other contexts?

wd 'pshow sw_showmaximized;' results in an error when run under j.jar. This
is also true under J601.
Is sw_showmaximized only valid with j.exe? It works fine under j.jar for wd
'pshow sw_shownormal;' then I can maximize the window.

The recent talk of Flash led me to try out this addon. Very interesting!
But needs to be fixed to handle spaces in the path to the DLL.

Maybe an additional dialog is overthinking a bit
for Mac-specific install? Because the only thing
the installation does is hard-code the path in the
jwd file. However, changing the jwx inside J icon to
cd `dirname $0`/../../..
./jwd
no longer requires this hard-coded cd.
So the
Done.
