Where might I find documentation? Are there other IOS events defined?

Apple doesn't allow apps that can be used to build apps. If that sentence
irritates, join the club. I'm paraphrasing and combining
sockets are disallowed.

Sigh...
As I poked around I was astounded at what did work. Except for lab errors
(resulting from uninstalled addins) I found little that didn't work. I was
getting my hopes up that when a jal workaround was devised anything would be
possible. The bullet statement worked as advertised, but
I think you can install any addons you want following the steps and using
the tools in my last posting of the jt.ijs script.
The steps are many, a bit tedious, and it is easy to make mistakes. But at
the end of the day you have the addon installed.
If there are problems, I would like to hear
