Hi, You heed to go to properties on the drive within My Computer and look on the security tab at permissions. I think the newer os may have set permissions for accounts that do not exist under the same name and password on the xp machine. Just a shot in the dark here. Jon -Original

The permissions sounds right John, but as this machine is part of a network on the university, we all have unique user IDs and passwords. So I am not sure if this will make a difference, however I will see what permissions are set in Windows 7 and go from there. Thanks for the help. On 11/26/09,

Hi Yvonne that is not a hard drive! That is in fact an SD card built into the unit! I do not know much about these except that it supposedly loads faster as there ar no moving parts, so the added bonus is shock resistance. But that's all I know. Sorry I can't help further. -Original
