Re: [blind-gamers] Baldur's Gate, Part 6

2020-08-25 Thread CluelessGorilla
Good feedback. How is everyone feeling about the combat now that we’re 6 parts
in: I’ve been continue to read off the damage dealt during the combat
sequences (10 middle damage from Imoen) etc.
Does this still add to the experience, or does it bog it down with time.

There’s one other thing I’m looking for feedback on from anyone here:
I’m going to be doing a Telltale game in the future. For anyone unfamiliar,
they usually give you an allotted time to press buttons to give a response to
dialogue options which may alter the story.
I can do it the same way as Baldur’s Gate, pick the choice and then keep the
story flowing. The other option would be for me to pause the video, explain
which buttons correlate with each dialogue option. If I go that route, it
flows less, but that may make somewhat accessible to anyone looking to play the
game themselves.

Nah, if you do that, you'll get lots and lots of messages about why you
didn't choose this, or why you didn't make a recording of that.  It
might be more interesting on a purly intellectual level, but
entertainment wise, unless you could actually spawn multiple recordings
based on what you choose (which I'm sure the game makers would have
something to say about), I think the way you're doing them now is the
best option.

the dialogue options when they present themselves.  What is everyone’s
preference on doing that?  As of right now, I choose a response and
only read that one.  The alternative is to read all of the possible
options.

Thanks Travis! I used to read the choose your own path books.

There’s definitely some choose your own adventure stuff in there. With each
dialogue, you have a few options as to what to say, some are actually really
