Dale,
This is exactly what our problem was. We literally had no idea, as we'd never
had a washer and dryer set, prior to our purchasing this first one.
We had an appliance repair man come out to check out the chemical smell in our
dryer for us, and he fixed this problem, too.
He also replaced
Hi,
Actually, this is not a mold issue.
The sofas are not in the area of the house, affected by the water.
This is just odors from years of usage and things being spilled on them, etc.
We've had this furniture for about 6 years now, so it's time for a good
cleaning!

Claudia,
What was causing the chemical smell?

Aloha Claudia,
There are many products out there, but for many years I have been
using a product called Done Gon. Note that there is no e at the end of Gon.
It is manufactured by a company in Texas. I purchased a case of quart

Sorry,
Shouldn't have said that he fixed the problem.
We had some tuckpointing done to our walls recently, and I guess the chemicals
or sealers they used have a smell to them, and that can filter into the dryer,
so the dryer then expelse those odors, when used, for a while, after the work

Hi All,
Just thought I'd post a quick update, to tell how we have been doing here
lately!
This past Monday, I worked all day, picked up Luis Antonio from preschool
and came home, to start the clean-up!
My parents came over, and they were such an awesome help; Lou stayed
upstairs with the little
Aloha Claudia,
Not knowing how much junk that nephew has to throw away, I was just
wondering if you might be able to rent a dumpster. Some friends of
ours rented one and it cost $90. They had it for seven days. The
rental company brought it to the property, and dropped it off in the
driveway,
Betsy,
Thanks; here, I believe the city will come and haul it away, so we have called
them already, and they will be picking things up, from the alley shortly.

The o-zone generator will do just that. Talk to an equipment rental outlet
that offers them and find out if there any limitations with respect to room
size.
Under the right circumstances this machine could also remove odors from
carpets and fabric window treatments.

All,
Remember if you use an ozone generator that you shouldn't be in the space
where it's working. I'd want to use it in a pretty air tight space. Ozone
is toxic to most living things including us. I suppose that's why it kills
molds and bacteria that cause odors. If instructions with any
Hi all,
Thanks to all who responded to my inquiry about installing baseboard in my
kitchen. I appreciate all the tool and technique suggestions. The floor is
being installed as I write. I've never heard of a coped cut but it makes
perfect sense. I never would have thought to make an angle
Edward,
I use a sharp utility knife to do the coping of the wood after cutting the
angle. They tell me it looks as good as a sighted persons. I use the knife at a
slight angle toward the back of the base board.

This is always a very difficult one to answer as there are many different

I've heard there are possible health concerns with these types of

Maybe a year ago, folks were asking about air filters
and pushing those that claimed to include ozone generators.
I looked up warnings about them, both not working
for air filtration and being unsafe, on the EPA's web site.
Hope the results are on the files page.

Tom, that's how I recall it. I think it's fine as long as your not
living with it daily and if you do the amounts have to be way way low.

Hi,
Have any of you ever heard of the Everdry system?
We had this company come out today, to inspect our basement!
The representative states that we have structural as well as foundation

He said that they have to put in a drainage tile system around the entire
house, seal the basement
Don't know anything about that particular company or system but the description
of the sort of work you need sounds about right. They dig down to footing level
which is the depth a little below the basement floor all around the house,
usually that will take about a day with a back hoe and

It is a long time now since I renewed mine and I didn't hire a company in that

years ago. Mind you it
Claudia,
I wonder if the other companies are not able to come to your place
because they are busy due to being more economical or because they
are well known. If you can, I'd wait for the others.

Dale,
