Ice cream salt? whatever is that? another quaint name for rock perhaps,
but what the connection might be defeats me!

So, what do I use if I want to kill everything and make sure nothing ever
lives there again. Anybody have a secret stash of Agent Orange? When I
build the deck, I want to make sure
inches. Also get the
metal spikes to hold it in place.

So, what
Cy suggested:
You might want to try mixing water, salt
and vinegar.
Will this mixture kill poison ivy? We
have used a product called Round Up, but it
kills everything it touches, including trees
eventually. I'm not sure if it is safe around
animals though.

I have a garden that is about 30 by 60 feet or better. would it be afective
to lay down tarps or heavy plastic over the winter?
or would the weed matts be better?
Do these weed mats come in large sizes and are they quite expensive?

You might want to try mixing water, salt and vinegar. Ice cream salt would
be more effective than table salt.
The thing to remember is when to apply the mixture. If it is very dry the
weeds and so forth have their pours closed to conserve moisture so the weed
