Just before midday on Friday, I saw a large, powerful dark bird fly from the south end of Cayuga Lake eastbound over Route 13. Eyes on the road, I didn't get a great look, but I think it was a BALD EAGLE. When I arrived at East Shore Park a couple of minutes later, the gulls were still

There are no leaders in bird flocks. All the gulls are hungry and will head to the compost in the morning, around the time that the truck brings in the food from the dorms. Each gull gets food as it can, and if they are satisfied, they often head back to the lake to loaf instead of hanging
