Around 50 minutes ago, a SHARPSHINNED HAWK landed on a branch next to a bird
feeder just outside our kitchen window. Stayed for about 20 minutes and
left hungry. Flew towards the other end of the house but out of sight.
Probably a young bird as it was not very red on the breast. Within a few

Below is an e-mail from the mother of the Scout about whom I wrote that
wanted to make a path along the south side of Mill Pond. I have sent
her copies of e-mails I've received. Today I sent her the last of the
many I've received over the last few weeks this is her reply.
Birds apparently use infrasound to detect - and evade - storms hundreds of
miles away.
