Hi all,
As I was waiting for the bus at BTI, Veronique and I had two Red-winged
Blackbirds fly overhead from northwest to southeast around 4.50 pm. Again
another 15 minutes later I saw one more at the junction of Pine Tree road and
Snyder Hill road.
It was so nice to see them.
Cheers
The Bald Eagle nest off NYS-89 along the west shore of Cayuga Lake in the Town
of Ulysses is technically possible to see, but it’s obscured by vegetation. The
most satisfying time to watch is when the young are big and standing up or even
climbing around. Verifying an incubating or brooding
Huge flocks today in the hills of Candor too :-)!

Walked over to Cornell Store at 9:55, and it was sitting on the ground by the
back entrance (about 10-15 ft from door) eating berries. Flew off into willow
by wee stinky glen - startled by a few people walking by and rattling the door
loudly.

A little after 9am today, Spring arrived. A single male REDWINGED BLACKBIRD.
He was followed closely by a second and a few minutes later by 13 GRACKLES
and a third Redwing. The great event was witnessed with trepidation by a
dozen Bluejays and 20 Goldfinches. Of course, snow is in the forecast
I’d like to invite everyone to the gala opening of my photo exhibition
