I live on Iroquois Road and have heard these owls for the past couple of
weeks at least a couple of times a day/night. Some of the time they are coming
from the direction you indicated in your email. I've also heard them close to
Triphammer Road and have wondered if they are
For the past couple of years, I have seen similar behavior on the cliffs above
Fall Creek along the path next to the Veggie Gardens on Freeze Road. As far as
I could tell, none of the nests were successful.

Hi Donna,
A couple of weeks ago I watched a red-tail catch, kill and eat a grey
squirrel in my yard. It pinned the squirrel and stayed motionless over it for
at least five minutes until the squirrel was dead. It took another 30 minutes
or so for the hawk to eat its fill. It left the remains

I saw a small kettle (5 birds) when I was walking my dog in the field near
the Equine Research Center this afternoon.
