An Osprey flew over me this morning as I drove down Middaugh rd in Brooktondale just off Coddington road. It lifted off from a nest on a telephone pole right across from a small pond near the bend in the road. The nest looks precarious as I didn't notice a platform, but maybe there is. Dave --

Recently I also saw an Osprey bringing a double fistful of grass to the nest in the field NW of Allan Treman marina, when there were young in the nest who are half grown. I think it’s normal. I don’t know the function, and maybe someone more knowledgeable can say whether it helps cool the nest,

That explains the flyover osprey when I was on Winthrop Dr. a couple of days ago. And on Tuesday also, a bald eagle and a raven (chased off by two resident crow families) over Muriel. The bald eagle was remarkably low! The raven looked distinctly young, brownish and broken primaries. Anne
