I'm not sure i've got the point ... you have the normal kernel and the
choice to install xen if you want .. it's up to you : nobody forces you
to install it. The same rule applies to Gnome/KDE/etc ;-)

On the other hand, i know that anaconda gui in 5.X is working ok with remote kvm (i've tested on IBM RSA2 and IBM BladeCenter MM and Advanced MM)

need the ip_conntrack_ftp iptables module.
You can modprobe it, or even better, declare it
in /etc/sysconfig/iptables-config ...

If you only see sync message occuring on the ds300 side, this is a
normal behaviour : it will sync after each reboot (btw, it's a shared
storage so it's supposed to be always up and running )

CONFIG_FB_VESA ... so no framebuffer at the console.
