Hey Craig,
Thank you very much but i got me some 049's yesterday. The engine looks to be in great shape. I haven't ever installed it and only had it a few weeks but I popped a valve cover off and it looks great on the inside, no sludge or anything and the guy I got if from said they had been
Due to some recent discoveries, I may need to use an
alternate block for my car. The original owner told
me that the block had been decked at one point. Is
there any way I can measure myself to find out how
much it has been decked if at all? I read somewhere

Are there any places in Colorado that will dip-strip your Chevelle?
If so, do you have to totally prep it (as in take the glass out) for them?
What would something like this cost?
Thanks in advance

Well the first thing I would do is get in touch
with the Attorney Generals office in your state and ask about recourse. If he

Also if you your heads are off, you can measure the piston to block hight,

Its easy to lift the motorone bolt on motor mount, then take your hoist, and lift it up on the front of the motordo it just enough to get the manifold back onIve done it several timesgetting headers on, camshafts in and out and such

Does anyone have any ideas about insurance for their classic chevy? I have checked with my regular carrier and they want almost as much for my Malibu as my every day 85 Elky. I seem to remember there was always some outift selling insurance for classics at every car show or swap meet I went to.
I have both of my chevelles insured through Hagerty. No mileage limitaion, very easy to work with.

Hagerty Collector Car
Boat Insurance handles my 68 Chevelle SS for about $150/yr. This is
full coverage with me stating the value I think is necessary and
includes free roadside service this year, which may come in handy if my gas
gauge malfunctions again on the way to a car show!

I think this really sucks that guys are putting original buildsheets on ebay... what a way to make a buck.
I can see guys tearing into the cars, finding the build sheets, selling the cars and then holding the build sheets as hostages... or threating to sell them on ebay... to be gone forever...
Yeah, people are really getting devilish these days
I'm afraid.. 8^[

If you call Hagerty dont
answer yes if they ask you if you have nitrous on the car. I said I was
thinking about it after I gave her my name and I was abruptly told that they
couldnt do business with me. I called back the next day to try again and
they already had my name on file as a
Hi,
My 70 has a Texas reconstruction tag on the
driver's door frame and the sixth digit in the VIN has been changed to an
"R". I know that this means the car was probably wrecked badly at one
time or built from many different Chevelles (I guess that makes it a clone
The re-tag
probably means that it was stolen and stripped at one time.

In Pa this could be stolen, stripped. flood,

wouldn't it be good if the car cranked over a bit before starting- after
sitting for a while- this would allow the oil pressure to get up a little bit
before it fires??
less wear on the engine??

With plugs in- the motor still makes compression. Battery wont turn forever
it will run down.
Pull the plugs and then you will turn over easy and fast and make oil
pressure real quick.

I have been thinking about getting a
multi-port fuel injection system for awhile now (before I decided to get rid of
the current engine). Does anyone have any recommendations on manufacturers?
Holley and Edelbrock are the only main ones I could find.

How
awful. Do you think they keep any public records that would let me know

I would look into the FAST systems. They are by far the best systems on the Market IMO. Check them out at http://www.fuelairspark.com The Holley port system is nice, but doesn't allow you the multiple injector firing/driving options like the FAST system. Although it depends on what you plans
