This seems better to me (and most efficient possible). Is this not the
normal way?
This would obviously not give time for the dynamic komi estimation you
suggest, but intuitively this seems like it will yield the best results (in
even games).

Depending on the implementation, discarding partial results might not be so
easy.

We have a volunteer who has recently compiled Oakfoam for Windows, so
we should hopefully have regular Windows builds starting early in

GTP commands are send to standard input and responses are read from
standard output. In GoGui you can turn on the GTP shell under the
Tools menu.

a little script that runs Oakfoam in this mode and
attempts to open the default web browser on the correct page
(http://localhost:8000). This should be sufficient to enable someone
not experienced with Computer Go development to play a game against
Oakfoam with minimal hassle.
