There is a brake on my comcast thing to put me down to what they sold
me...where is it? I assume on the pole?

on initial instalattion, the comcast crew put wrong splitter/filters in our
entire neighborhood (only about 10 installs). big problem with dropping off the
internet. the third tech to come out checked signal strength at my modem. he
then replaced the filter/splitter. comcast then sent out
You do realize Comcast sells 3 tiers...
Basic 768up
High 6Gup
High+Boost 16Gup
I have the BASIC and the numbers I cite exceed what they sold me so I cannot
fault that. But, they put a brake on the pole to keep it below the upper
tiers and behind them in priority. Where does one get a splitter
I assume a 2 way will give the least loss for my internet leg on the 3.5 and
then use the 7 to the TV which is right next to the computer? They don't
seem to sell a 2 way unbalanced at below links. Wouldn't that be a better
solution as the 3rd unused 7bd leg would eat some signal even if not
What will a terminator accomplish on the unused port?
I purchased a 3 way 1 in 1 out 3db 2 out 7db ...we'll see!!

I was told by a knowledgeable supervisor tech one time when I was having
a lot of problems with my comcast service that either a too low or a too
high signal at the modem were problematic as were quality of splitters.
If the proper signal can't be achieved to your modem, some times an

do these results have any meaning? are they accurate? are there
Stop diddling with the wires. Unless there's something drastically
wrong with the signal, you're best off not screwing with them. They
aren't like analog signals of yore that could slow down a connection
if there was a bit of noise on the line. The increase you saw from the
splitter was probably

Yes, there are splitters with different impedance's. Cox has the cable
hitting the splitter and then the lowest impedance output (3.5db) of
the splitter along with the shortest run of cable going to the modem.
The higher impedance (7.0db) connections go to the TV sets. One time
