Today's LA Times story on the case says he is a lawyer and plans to argue
the case. But of course, a lot of people question the LA Times's reporting
these days...

Unintended Consequences of Constitutional Amendments.
Kyvig's Explicit and Authentic Acts is a superb historical survey of
constitutional amendments (both successful and unsuccessful).
