Hi Shree,

You would want to write a script which can scrape the data from the
website. This can be automated using Python, mechanize library (with
support for doPostBack calls as in these webpages).

Once downloaded, PDFs can be combined using PDFtk library (one among
different methods). Then, XPDF might be useful to retrieve text from the
combined PDF.

This is a cool interactive! I've a few suggestions:

In the state-specific page
,
consider coloring the constituencies by party color by default.
Similarly for the state-specific historic election data
,
consider showing all the trend lines by default and color code them by
parties. This will help user see the trends at one shot.

Electors per constituency data has to be scraped out of the state PDFs at
ECI website. Not sure if anyone's done it already.
