I've now installed rEFIt on the Mac partition, and succeeded booting grub using
the refit menu. The system starts to boot, and some kernel messages are briefly
displayed.
Once the kernel re-initializes the display I get a black snowy screen. I
haven't found a kernel parameter incantation
This is how I do it at the moment:
d-i preseed/early_command string /usr/bin/killall syslogd
/sbin/syslogd -m 0 -O /var/log/syslog -S -R hostname.tld
But of course I'd also welcome a more standardized way doing it - my
preseed/early_command line is starting to get overcrowded, those are

Yes, we want to limit the profusion of choice to keyboards which
actually exist. US dvorak is questionable already.
