--- Begin Message ---Package: udev Version: 0.105-3 Severity: important Hi, After upgrade to udev 0.105-2 (with libvolume0 0.105-2) I found that after reboot my first network interface is not eth0 anymore but eth7 (there is /sys/class/net/eth7). So I changed my network conf and everything was fine till the next reboot - this time eth7 has been renamed to eth8. Just to be sure I rebooted again and as I expected now it is eth9. The same is valid for udev 0.105-3. This problem doesn't occur with udev 0.105-1. The forcedeth driver/hardware is broken and assigns random MAC addresses. Obviously this is not going to work well with MAC-based persistent rules. > The MAC address is different in z25_persistent-net.rules files because I am > changing it in /etc/network/interfaces. I am not sure if this can work with persistent net rules. -- ciao, Marcosignature.asc
