Bug#496771: Deb AMD64 eats huge amounts of memory (and babies?) because of badly built libs

2008-08-27 Thread Gustaf Räntilä
Package: general Version: AMD64 This is basically a debian AMD64-version of the bug report for ubuntu AMD64 bug 24691 [1]. The problem is (seems to be) that a lot of libraries are built with alignment above 2**3. Most of these cases are actually 2**20 in ubuntu AMD64 and 2**21 in debian AMD64.

Bug#399439: Perhaps it's time to close

2008-02-12 Thread Gustaf Räntilä
If there's a custom of closing bugs with reasons like will not [be] fix[ed], then perhaps it's time now, to damp people's expectations. This is over-clearly not prioritized by the gnome team, and Umran's work is a complete waste of time and money. Not even on the RoadMap for evince (covering

Bug#429846: Can't find org.postgresql.Driver after installation

Package: libpg-java Version: 8.2-504-1 After installation, you would assume that the driver is installed, so that you can use it as described in all manuals: Class.forName(org.postgresql.Driver); but this throws an exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.postgresql.Driver I'm using

Bug#385372: Solved, sort of...

2006-08-31 Thread Gustaf Räntilä
By stracing, I found that it was winbind messing. When shutting down winbind (I don't use it anyway), and removing its pid file /var/run/samba/windbindd.pid and the socket /var/run/samba/windbindd_privileged/sock and restarting samba it now works! To me, this is a major bug. Samba shouldn't

Bug#349354: Linux or debian

2006-02-27 Thread Gustaf Räntilä
Hi all, You seem to have problems with something called yaird, whatever that is. My problem is that the udev package needs kernel modules in /lib/modules/2.6.15-1-686. Mine is in 2.6.15.3... Why is the udev package script looking at that particular directory? I really hope it's not because that's

Package: java-gcj-compat Version: 1.0.51-1 The issue seems to rely in the gcj/gij packages. Since I updated to version 4.0.2-7 (and -7j1) of the gcj packages, Eclipse crashes every once in a while, usualy after about an hour of usage. I don't use Eclipse for building java-programs, so that's not
