Bug#706076: awstats: Awstats stops working if first log line is a SSL error
Package: awstats Version: 6.9.5~dfsg-5 Severity: important Please ignore the missing config files, I'm using another names to them. For some days, Awstats stopped logging a lot of data, and I discovered the problem: I'm using LogRotate, and frequently the first line of my log files is something like: 66.249.76.217 - - [17/Apr/2013:10:45:08 -0300] \x16\x03\x01 200 1709 - - My server is http, and I can replicate this trying open https://myserver, and I will have another line like this at logs. Apache is OK, this is a valid combined log for SSL not found errors, but when this appears at first log line (what heppens sometimes here even next logrotate run), awstats shows me an error like this: ### So searching new records from beginning of log file... AWStats did not find any valid log lines that match your LogFormat parameter, in the 50th first non commented lines read of your log. Your log file /var/log/apache2/myhost-access_log must have a /bad format or LogFormat parameter setup does not match this format. Your AWStats LogFormat parameter is: 1 This means each line in your web server log file need to have combined log format like this: 111.22.33.44 - - [10/Jan/2001:02:14:14 +0200] GET / HTTP/1.1 200 1234 http://www.fromserver.com/from.htm; Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.01; Windows NT 5.0) And this is an example of records AWStats found in your log file (the record number 50 in your log): 66.249.76.225Â - - [14/Apr/2013:15:29:31 -0300] \x16\x03 200 1709 - - If the first line is a normal combined log line, the SSL error lines are ignored and Awstats works OK. See I'm loosing important data, since the next time logrotate runs and correct the first line, all rotated data is lost. And if at next logrotate runs the first line is again something like the SSL error, I will loose more data. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.7 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=pt_BR, LC_CTYPE=pt_BR (charmap=locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages awstats depends on: ii perl 5.10.1-17squeeze5 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction Versions of packages awstats recommends: ii coreutils 8.5-1 GNU core utilities ii libnet-xwhois-perl0.90-3 Whois Client Interface for Perl5 Versions of packages awstats suggests: ii apache2 2.2.16-6+squeeze10 Apache HTTP Server metapackage ii apache2-mpm-itk [http 2.2.16-6+squeeze10 multiuser MPM for Apache 2.2 ii libgeo-ipfree-perl1.101650-1 module to look up the country of a pn libnet-dns-perl none (no description available) pn libnet-ip-perlnone (no description available) pn liburi-perl none (no description available) -- Configuration Files: /etc/awstats/awstats.conf [Errno 2] No such file or directory: u'/etc/awstats/awstats.conf' /etc/awstats/awstats.conf.local [Errno 2] No such file or directory: u'/etc/awstats/awstats.conf.local' -- debconf information excluded -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#697926: gnome: Remove libreoffice dependencies
But in my description, libreoffice dependencies aren't a mistake? I think this bug is the second described point: remove one that is no longer appropriate. Thanks for the return. 2013/1/12 Josselin Mouette j...@debian.org Le vendredi 11 janvier 2013 à 10:08 -0300, Saulo Soares de Toledo a écrit : When trying install gnome, aptitude install libreoffice packages. LibreOffice packages conflicts with Apache OpenOffice.org packages. Let me paste here the text that was shown before you submitted this bug. You are going to file a bug against “gnome”, which is a metapackage. It means it is empty except for its dependencies, which are here to provide a full-fledged GNOME desktop for Debian. Using this package to report a bug is appropriate if: * You have noticed a bug in the GNOME desktop but you don’t know which actual package it comes from. * You believe there is a genuine mistake in dependencies, like forgetting to add a dependency that is needed for a regular GNOME desktop, or to remove one that is no longer appropriate. If you don’t like one of the packages that are depended upon and prefer that we drop the dependency or depend on another one that is not related to GNOME, please don’t bother filing the bug. Bug#682810: [Pkg-samba-maint] Bug#682810: samba: Strange message probabilly generating file access errors
If you get corruption when you disable locking, there must still be some access from one client while the other one is using the file. Now i have this and the problem is worse: When the connection is closed, when the process with the PID ends at server, the file is removed!!! The system locks the file, if I wait some time, the locked file is simple removed fro server! oplocks = False level2 oplocks = False locking = no strict locking = no blocking locks = no Could you describe the exact steps needed to reproduce the problem when locking is enabled? What application are you using? How long after the first client closes the file did you try to access it on the second client? Does it work if the first client disconnects? Or if the first client machine is shut down? I'm not certainly about how happens... the frequency is with .PSD photoshop files, but can occurs with other files sporadically, but it's difficult predict. While using Adobe Photoshop, if at least 2 people opens the same file, the file still locked, and remains inacessible and, now, is removed after the first time the locked message occurs. At Adobe Photoshop, I see the message I have no permission to access the file. After this, when the file is removed after the process ends at server, It's possible save again. If I forget save the file, it's lost. I think this happens more frequently as larger are the files. I don't know how to measure the time, but I'm certainly if the second opens when the first is opened (and this can be seconds of difference), the bug happens. But happened in times I don't understood yet. If the first client disconnects, the file still locked forever. To don't lost the file, I can copy at server with another name, for example... The same happens if the first machine is shut down... What is the output of smbclient when the problem occurs? (please check to see that this output does not contain sensitive information before sending it to the bug report) I've tryed smbstatus and do not saw nothing different The fact that you can get access when you disable locking indicates that you don't have a permission issue, but a locking issue. This problem is probably not a debian specific issue. I suspect it is a configuration issue. It might be better to try via the samba mailing list or IRC channel: I will try both. But, anyway, I think this is a critical problem, files are removed or corrupted... And I don't know how proceed with this anymore... Saulo

Quoting Saulo Soares de Toledo (saulotol...@gmail.com): Source: samba Version: 3.6.6 Severity: important I'm using Samba 3.6.6 at Debian Wheezy and there are 2 problems happening at my shares: 1) Some files can't be removed 2) The error reported at https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9051 I don't see anythign related to upstream bug #9051 Both appeared at same time, and the logs at level 5 shows the same error when the problems occurs: [2012/07/25 20:42:06.251977, 0] lib/sysquotas.c:405(sys_get_quota) sys_path_to_bdev() failed for path [.]! Level 10 log is much better. And we would probably need much more information such as the settings of this share, the underlying filesystem, the permissions on files where you have problems, etc. The permissions at the files with ant without problems are the same, where arquivos:arquivos is the user/group forced at samba with force user. An example: # ls Home_alterado7.psd -l -rwxrw 1 arquivos arquivos 92238357 Jul 26 09:05 Home_alterado7.psd There is no special attributes at files: # lsattr Home_alterado7.psd Home_alterado7.psd And I have no ACL support in my ext3 system. At /etc/fstab: /dev/md1/home ext3defaults0 2 Then, there are some error while Samba try control the lockings. The smb.conf is the same attached at bugzilla: https://bugzilla.samba.org/attachment.cgi?id=7710 Aditionally, I have tested at shares: oplocks = False level2 oplocks = False # share modes = no # locking = no strict locking = no blocking locks = no Samba manual told us force user + oplocks enabled is a problem, then I have deactivated it (See Beware of Force User at www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/locking.html ) share modes = no is deprecated and do not worked while activated. The lockings are with no, but the error still... locking = no worked, but some large files are being corrupted, and this problem is worse than the deny. This is definitely not an option, I'm afraid. Quota support *is* expected from our users. How we can remove that erros from samba with quota enabled?
Bug#682810: [Pkg-samba-maint] Bug#682810: Bug#682810: samba: Strange message probabilly generating file access errors
Also, can you include your smb.conf file and information about the clients you are using (OS, version, ...). I have posted a link to my smb.conf above now. And other important informations too. My clients are: - MS Windows 7 (where the problems occurs with frequency) - MS Windows XP - 1 Linux machine (mine) Are you using Mac OS X with unix extentions? Is so, your problem might be similar to this bug: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=532856 In that case, you can resolve the problem by setting 'unix extensions = no' No Mac OS X here, but I tested anyway. The only thing who happened here was my Linux Machine can't access the shares mounted at fstab. The problem at Windows 7 machines persists. Thanks Saulo

Bug#680939: Bug#681350: libconvert-asn1-perl: use strict breaks smbldap-tools
OK, I'll update the package, but maybe we should wait till the end of the week and ask for a new release of smbldap-tools, as the one in Debian is already outdated. I think if we can test the package with an empty installation can bring us a faster new smbldap-tools release. We should test if with an empty installation we have some other bugs derived from use strict at perl. After some tests, I think we can ask smbldap-tools developer's team to a new release. And, anyway, I'm not using smbldap-tools anymore, if anyone on the Cc: list wants to take over mainteinance, be my guest, please. I'm sorry I'm not using smbldap-tools too, tt only appeared on my 'radar' some time ago to remove the Digest::SHA1 dependency which was one goal of the Debian Perl Group, and now due to the bugreport from Saulo on libconvert-asn1-perl. I'd like to help here, but I'm an occasional user of the package, and my servers are always to small networks, I'm not the right mantainer to this package... BTW, I've already have the latest upstream version packaged, but I didn't uploaded it because I wanted to see how many debian bugs were closed by it and didn't had the time to look into it and test (I planned to use a LXC container with a clean installation of a system with OpenLDAP and SAMBA, but I haven't been able to work on it in the last weeks). This is great, as more (important) bugs fixed with a new release the better. Again, sorry cannot help here good, but maybe Saulo can provide some feedback? Really sorry, I would like to help here, but I can't do it this days. Anyway, if I get some news with this question, I will update this report. I think we should wait some more days. We need make sure we have no another critical bug. smbldap-tools team updated only 2 of the scripts... Thanks Saulo

News about the bug. I received a response from SATOH Fumiyasu, smbldap-tools developer, about the problem. It's fixed to smbldap-userlist and smbldap-grouplist at SVN (revision 135): http://svn.gna.org/viewcvs/smbldap-tools?view=revisionrevision=135 It's needed check if there are other scripts with failures yet to close the bug. Somebody can help with them? 2012/7/13 Salvatore Bonaccorso car...@debian.org Hi Saulo btw, what smbldap-tools can do, is to workaround this is to use 'eval'. so in a example something like: cut-cut-cut-cut-cut-cut- #!/usr/bin/perl use strict 'refs'; my $attrs = [ 'foo', 'bar', ]; $attrs = eval $attrs; push @{$attrs}, 'foobar'; use Data::Dumper 'Dumper'; warn Dumper [$attrs]; cut-cut-cut-cut-cut-cut- But again, this is more a hack. Bug#681350: libconvert-asn1-perl: use strict breaks smbldap-tools
2012/7/12 Salvatore Bonaccorso car...@debian.org Could you give more information on which problems you see with smbldap-tools? Should the bugreport reassigned to smbldap-tools? I've opened the bug report 680939 680...@bugs.debian.org to smbldap-tools. Smbldap-tools is a set of perl scripts designed to manage user and groupaccounts stored in an LDAP directory. (website description) Some scripts of the package simple do not works with use sctrict enabled. The Debian version is 0.9.7, but 0.9.8 (latest from developers) do not works too. The error returned with smbldap-userlist is: Can't use string (['username','uidNumber','uid']) as an ARRAY ref while strict refs in use at /usr/share/perl5/Convert/ASN1/_encode.pm line 269. Smbldap-tools is needed while using Samba + LDAP. I sent an email do smbldap-tools developers about the problem and will update here when I get some more information about.

Bug#608926: [php-maint] Bug#608926: php5-ffmpeg: Loop while using the extension with FLV files
I think this is a problem from ffmpeg-php lib, not Debian. Debian its our local server. This PHP application need be deployed in a CentOS server (external server). After install the same version of the lib, I got the same error. I installed 0.6.0 version: same problem. Then, I got the trunk version and installed here (Debian) and at CentOS server, both solved. At moment, I can't regride the lib version at server because there are projects here running and needing this library working, I will not have permission to do this for now. I will try recreate the problem in another machine to put here. If somebody more can try recreate, here are the steps: 1) Install Apache + PHP 5 + php5-ffmpeg 2) At server root, put any FLV file and a php file with this content (change the FLV filename at php file): ?php header(Content-Type: image/jpeg); $movie = new ffmpeg_movie(flv_file_name_here.flv); $height = $movie-getFrameHeight (); $width = $movie-getFrameWidth (); $image = imagecreatetruecolor ( $width , $height ) ; $frame = new ffmpeg_frame($image); $frame = $movie-getFrame(100); $image = $frame-toGDImage(); imagejpeg($image, null, 100); ? 3) If an image of frame 100 appear, sucess! Bug#607364: linux-image-2.6.32-trunk-686: High resource consumption for note(net)books
Tested. With kernel from experimental (2.6.37-rc5) my netbook gets crazy: hibernate disable my swap at next reboot (then I need use mkswap manually, and then swapon -a) and don't works. And in some reboots fsck needs recover something in my root partition. Anyway, the numbers (activations/second) sounds better in this version. After upgrade of firmware-linux and linux-base packages (needed by the new kernel), my hibernate option do not worked anymore even at old kernel (2.6.32). Then I back them to testing versions and needed manual intervention to fix the hibernate problem (installing and configuring uswsusp). Due to the version problems, I got the last stable version (2.6.36.2) and compiled. The numbers with powertop sounds better too (maybe better than 2.6.37 version, but I need test more time). I will test for some hours and put here some more info. 2010/12/19 maximilian attems m...@stro.at On Sun, Dec 19, 2010 at 03:51:42PM -0200, Saulo Soares de Toledo wrote: Upgraded. Bug#557130: grub2: update-grub do not works with gfxpayload
Package: grub2 Version: 1.97+20091115-1 Severity: normal Grub2 in Debian do not allow the use of set gfxpayload option indo grub.cfg, update-grub command remove it if the configuration is manual. gfxpayload allow us change the console resolution, but Debian default files do not have this option to use with. A possible solution: 1) Into /etc/grub.d/00_header, add set gfxmode=${GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD} 2) Into /etc/default/grub, add GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD=keep keep is the default option for gfxpayload, it will get the value of gfxmode And now, if we need another resolution, we can edit /etc/default/grub and put another resolution for the console. Examples: GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD=1280x1024 GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD=1024x768 After run update-grub or update-grub2, the gfxpayload option will works correctily. I was talking about the old (pre-breakage) ia32-libs. It's still in lenny and squeeze (I think), but not in sid.
