Hi I have a kind of same problem. A monitor able of displaying at 1920x1080. Intel HD Graphics 620 with driver i915/modesetting. With old Stable (kernel 4.9.0-9) it was working fine. With new Stable (kernel 4.19.0-6) it set max display 1024x768. See

The nouveau version in squeeze does not support these cards, they should work in wheezy though. I'm reluctant to suggest this, but you probably need the nvidia driver (package nvidia-glx in section non-free) to get full support for your cards. Let's hope that security is not

I suspect that your monitor doesn't actually have a horizontal sync of 30 to 54, it's just wrong on the web site. Why don't you run dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg again, and this time instead of picking Advanced to specify the numbers directly, choose Medium and pick A monitor that can do
