Update: I've been maintaining a Debian packaging [0] of the MAT for
testing purposes, and also because we've been shipping it into
Tails [1] for a few months.
I have been waiting for the dust to settle down, for bug reports
flowing from brave early adopters to arrive and be dealt with. I think
imposition toolkit
pdfimposer is a Python module to achieve some basic imposition on PDF
documents, especially designed to work on booklets.

For what it's worth, the last Cookie Monster version works well with
current iceweasel 5.x from Debian
at DEP-5, but it seems to me it would be slightly
better to factorize licenses notices as standalone License: blocks
at the end of the file in a case like yours, i.e. when several
File: blocks reference the same licenses. I may be wrong, though.

Here's an update for the record.
I've had upstream stop shipping an obsolete debian/ directory
in the tarballs they release.
I've had upstream fix their build system so that the install make
target works properly when installing into the debian/$(PACKAGE)
destination directory.
it and it seems a bit too fresh (only one upstream
release so far) to be sure upstream will actually maintain it on the
long run, though.
