[Declude.JunkMail] Declude Woes

2005-07-28 Thread Will
A number of years ago I purchased Declude and ultimately abandoned it due to the crippling problem that would leave our spool directory overfilled with mail and a mail server that was delivering mail late. Sometimes up to 24 to 48 hours late in the worst cases. Last year I decided to give Declude

It might help to give a bit more information. What version of Imail? What version of Declude? What virus scanners are you running? Any odd messages in the virus or junkmail logs? - Original Message - From: Will [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Declude.JunkMail@declude.com Sent: Thursday, July

What is your daily total volume? What server are you using for DNS? What version of Imail? What have you tried to tweak? (First thing that comes to my mind is AFTERJM in the Virus.cfg file.) Are you using the Default JunkMail configuration, or have you made changes? John T eServices For You

Hi Will, We just had this problem twice in the past week. We're running IMail 8.05 and Declude Junkmail/Virus 1.82. The first took us most of the day to recover, with significant effort on our part, and a delay in delivery of about 4 hours for some email. It was caused by a new customer

Hi Will, Sorry you are having problems - Declude is a good product - it may be something simple here. I would say the most common thing is a dns issue - stuff stacks up waiting for dns responses. Check that out first - send more info too! -Nick Will wrote: A number of years ago I

The only issue known to this list regarding Declude that can affect Declude users in this way would be an incompatibility with IMail 8.20. IMail 8.20 introduces a rewrite of the SMTP service which was a major change, and sure enough this created issues for some users when they ran up against

Matt beat me to it. I hope you are not using a nobody alias anywhere. The large amount of GSE files are indicative of a misconfiguration or improper configuration within Imail. Also as Matt said, some people are becoming too quick to point a finger at Declude. I posted some questions

William, It is always too early to tell until at least a couple of weeks have past. Only the most obvious and widespread issues will crop up immediately and become known, but the real problematic things will take weeks or even months to diagnose and fix. That said, a hot fix generally

My understanding is that IMail 8.15 HF2 and everything before it is limited to just 64 threads based on the fact that it is not multi-threaded like 8.20 now is. I believe that the default setting in IMail is less than 64 and can be increased. There is also a timeout setting that should be

I installed the 8.21 patch, the main improvement is the ability to limit the amount of SMTP connections. I opened a case with Ipswitch yesterday due to a problem with SMTPD32 that would cause the RAM usage to skyrocket until the SMTP service failed. It turns out that when a blacklist is
