Hi all,
Running Declude Junkmail Pro 2.0.6 on Imail 8.15. I upgraded Declude to
2.0.6 from 2.0.5 on 4/15 and have gotten a few of these seemingly
randoml log errors every day since. Nothing else on the server changed
but Declude.

I did exactly this when we added SPAMCHK as a test last year. I
believe they recommended this range because spamchk would add a lot of
small weights and a 1-10 scale is too narrow. It also allows us to
create filters with words that are more common in non-spam, but more
likely to be spam in
Hi all,
All of the recent talk about SpamChk has finally prompted me to give it
a spin. Per the documentation, I am considering change my weight
scale. That is, I normally hold on 10 and delete on 25. Of course, my
per-test weights are adjusted accordingly.
I am thinking about doing what
Hi all,
I want to run this by everyone before I do something potentially stupid...I

along with failing NOPOSTMASTER and NOABUSE as yahoo always does, this
throws it over my bounce threshhold.
I'd like to ward this off by
Um...er...yeah...I knew you could do that cough...cough...
It DOES sound too simple. Have I been using JM for all these years and I
didn't know you could have a pass weight in the config file?! I swear I
only ever knew you could add weight if it failed.
I guess I never questioned what all

How about trying robocopy.exe from the NT or 2000 resource kit? It has a
great MIRROR option that makes a complete copy in the target location
(deleting files that are gone, copying new and changed files, ignoring
unchanged files). It would probably be much faster.
And it also has an exclude
Phillip,
I see one flaw in this logic. It seems that you are assuming that all
mail admins are good mail admins as you say in the last paragraph.
In my experience, not very many of them are. And probably all the
good ones are on this list! ;-)
The typical scenerio I've seen is that for one
Here's an alternative I am using. REDIRECT was not an option when I built
this. So this is what I did.
In the IMail web interface (8383), I have added a couple pages which allow
me to change the user's spam filtering level to one of 3 choices (0=WARN,
1=SUBJECT, 2=BOUNCE). This web script
Scott,
I had a situation where there was an alias that pointed to another alias.
We did this because we wanted two aliases pointing to a group of about 5
addresses. And we did not want or need the overhead of a list. Nor did we
want to have to edit both aliases every time the group changed (it

Can you remind me how much of the message body JunkMail scans with the

have been caught by my word filters, but it wasn't. Just for kicks,
back to their ISPs, then closed the proxies.

Jim,
Mine's rather short and contains no profanity, so I don't see any
problem posting it here...It's essentially what someone else posted to
the list a while back minus a few that were causing too many false
positives plus a few negative weights for legit sites that were
getting caught.
Have you tried TightVNC? (www.tightvnc.com) It was designed for slow
connections and has a few more things tweaked for better performance. And
it's also free. Worth a look...

A compromise that I would like is to have the whitelist in a seperate

super-easy to write code to update, but whitelist is more

So do I understand that you want E-mail that goes to the list not to be
scanned, but then you would like your copy of it scanned? That is not
currently possible.
That's exactly how I would like it in an ideal world. You see, we set up
our default junkmail filters to only WARN. Then give
I just got a similar report from one of my users. And it DID fail various

I'm not sure how to proceed. If I take my own server and domain out of the

Madscientist, Scott, etc
I've installed the trial of SortMonster Message Sniffer. And I must say it
catches a lot of stuff that the standard tests do not. I'm quite happy.
But I've also noticed a fair amount of false positives (partly due to my own

Hi all,
Just installed JunkMail Pro with the default settings. Did some tests using
