When you try to copy a file into a folder and there is already a file
with the same name, nautilus just says that the file exists and asks if
you want to replace it.
It would be far more useful if it also displayed for each file:

I've attached the backtrace in gdb-metacity.txt and my
.xsession-errors. Looking at the xsession-errors it gives gtk-warning

I've tried to disable the desktop effects option, but have no idea how to do
so.
I restarted the computer a couple of times and have stayed away from the
desktop effects option and it seems to be working fine. If it continues to

consumes all CPU, eventually freezing the whole gnome session, just
mouse moves and crtl+alt+backspace allows to restart the session .. once

This dialog can be started from the icon Appearance on the Desktop or
by commandline: gnome-appearance-properties

If we restrict ourselves to using the Plain greeter and a dwell gesture
to start onboard, the only thing needed is a new line that defines the
dwell gesture to start onboard.
Considering that onboard is installed by default (I think at least so)

Upstream wants to deprecate gnome-desktop in the near future. The patch
for it looks pretty straightforward. The worst case, if this is
included, would probably be that if Gnome takes another approach in a
future release and that then the old recent application list might not
be read anymore after
I've tried disabling parts of the extmod module. With sync omitted,
I haven't been able to reproduce the problem anymore. With shape
disabled, I've had one hangup, but haven't been able to duplicate it so
far. Other parts haven't made a difference.

I'm getting freezes every time I boot. I've attached my
/var/log/messages if that'll help any. I'm at my wits end. My old HP
desktop, which I'm on right now, is running Feisty without any hitches.
But my 2 years newer Acer laptop is nothing but trouble. Any help would

Gibbon (just updated) with open-source radeon driver and EXA enabled.
With XAA there's no flickering.
