That's pretty much what I figured. This is not a bug, but a
configuration error. Application/x-extension-lzma is not the valid
Content-type for a file with an LZMA extension (should be
application/x-lzma). Check that you don't have an entry in
~/.local/share/mime/globs for LZMA (and either remove

My monitor can't display the startup screen - it hasn't been able to
since I put Ubuntu 7.04 on it! My monitor probably can't handle the
resolution. So it goes blank and displays a message about the monitor
being unable to handle the screen resolution and then loads the login

I've tried it with some ogg files and the same result.
Interestingly, if I add the files individually, the tags get read
properly on them straight away. If I remove all the files from the
project and then add the directory in one hit, it all works as expected.

I have a relatively unique setup in that I currently have three sound
'devices' running on my machine:
- an onboard VIA soundcard. Relevant entry from lspci: 00:11.5
Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8233/A/8235/8237
AC97 Audio Controller (rev 60)
- An external USB Terratec
