If you are tlaking about the AOO helpfiles, they are simply HTML, sure you can download the files from the source code as-is. But I dont think there is an ODF of the helpfiles, there is so much other documentation that is on ODF already. Might have better luck reading that. On Tue, Jul 21, 2015

I advice to read the Andrew Macro (not the whole book) OpenOffice Macro explain, is more of a reference book but read the first chapters to understand the differences between VBA and AOO. I also recommend to subscribe to the AOO Forum and check the Macros subforum.

Possible Bug or issue

Bare in mind most of AOO is based on C++ code. So this would be most of the actual development time. There are many bugs that have been documentated, so before squashing them, you should read the wiki and also consult the list for possible outdated documentation. This is one of the biggest hurdles
