[digitalradio] Soundcard Calibration

2007-09-12 Thread Simon Brown
Somewhere I saw a solution for calibrating a soundcard (not using WWV). Can anyone help with this please - I want to write a DD to do this then add the code to a program of mine. Why? Because I'm thinking about MT63 - looks interesting but the soundcard accuracy is important. Simon Brown,

With Pactor 2 and 3 they get a type of diversity gain by changing the order of which tones are swapped back and forth. This is specified in their description of the P3 protocol, but I don't fully understand this and maybe this is not easy to implement. Let me describe what I learned

Vojtech, If you can design a good solution like this and make a good C++ class available I am sure many programmers would be very happy to add this support, if only to get rid of the 'jolly' Pactor from the airwaves. Simon Brown, HB9DRV - Original Message - From: Vojtech Bubnik

Doesn't this assume an accurate system clock? I think I see a class in gMFSK / fldidgi to compare input = output but for calibration we need an accurate source. Simon Brown, HB9DRV - Original Message - From: Vojtech Bubnik [EMAIL PROTECTED] I think Patrick in his MultiPSK has some

The SCS Pactor modems use Viterbi encoding/decoding according to the information published by Dr. Rink in the RTTY Digital Jounal in the mid 1990's: Very efficient error control coding using a convolutional code with a constraint length of 9 and a real Viterbi decoder with soft decision is

Very good points, Vojtech, It was my understanding that the specific permutations of the changing order of the tones was discussed in their published specifications: Similar to the PACTOR-II protocol, the digital data stream that constitutes a specific virtual carrier is swapped to a different
