We ran a recent usability study and it was brought up in the post mortem that perhaps users would be more comfortable if they didn't know we were the designers. Not only 'more comfortable' and 'more honest' but also maybe less 'eager to please.' Have you ever slightly altered who you are in

Interesting question. I've never altered my stated role for the purpose of a test; I think it's because I've only run tests on systems that someone else designed. I can certainly see where it would be best to not reveal that information, or at least mitigate the potential for the outcome you
