I have choosen this way, because it seems to be impossible to put any
map on the sever of LO. We have first discussed about this in 2014
during a German community-meeting in Essen.

Then there were developed two versions of a map from two person. A
third person wanted to set this on the webspace of LO - but this
doesen't happen.

One year later, again in Essen, I tried it the second time - and
nothing happened.

For last solution I had set the map now on my own webspace. I don't
think this is a good solution. As a LO-contributors-map it must be
part of the LO webspace.

Indeed you are a contributor if you create extensions or templates or
something else for LibreOffice and make it available for other users.

You are developing something for LO. You could add a comment to your
entry in the field "Miscellaneous". So you could declare, what you are
doing.

Feel free to add yourself to the map.

I have developed this map, because I have been asked for support for a
Base-database. The pharmacy was about 400 km from my home. So I told
them to contact another person, who lives nearby them and could create
Base-databases better than I. A look on the map and you will find the
person.

Re: [tdf-discuss] LO contributors map

2016-08-14 Thread Tim---Kracked_P_P---webmaster

I have not been following this posting - much.

The question I have is who/what can be considered as a
"contributor/contribution".

Are Extensions and Templates creators part of this map?

How about creating a very large color palette for LO?
I use a "standard.soc" file of over 3900 color options. I created it
several years ago and it is much better for me with my flier and small
poster work - up to 13x19 inch size. Sure, it is not as big of a
contribution as those who work on the software upgrades and "issue
repair", but we should have some information on what will and will not
be a part of the "pin map".

Elmira, New York, USA < 42.076 -76.820 > 876 ft

This is the "geo-tag" of a weather station about half a mile west from
me. I do not know if the "-" is there for a separation or a negative
number. I went to Weather Underground for this information. They list
all of the currently online weather stations within my area. This is the
only "place" I can see the GPS figures near me.

Elmira, NY < 42.102 -76.814 > 889 ft
This one is about 1.5 miles north of me.

Hi Robert and Charles,

Just a minor point, I believe it may be better to put the input box
for latitude first and then longitude second as I believe this is the
format followed for geolocation. This will help in minimizing the
amount of errors in setting up the pins when people input the locations.

It may also be good to divide the "infrastructure" category to
"infrastructure" and add "website" or "website development" or
something of the sort. For example, some of us are not part of the
infrastructure team, however, we do input a bit on the website (in my
case event banners) and help out if there is a particular need for
help on some webpages.

I also agree with Charles on putting this on our infra. IMO, for the
growth of marketing teams, it would be very telling as to where the
TDF/LibreOffice should concentrate on building building stronger ties
with regional marketing teams. It is more visual than just staring at
a list and may make it easier to see where some marketing support is
needed.

Would also be interesting to the general public to see if they had
access to it on the LibreOffice site.

Cheers,

Marc

forget all about
OpenLayers 2 and/or 3, javascript php and Leaflet, Django or MySQL

you can create such a map on

in a webfrontend even as a raw recruit.

Try it. ;-)

the map I designed works with OpenLayers 3. I have downloaded the two

Data from all users are saved in a MySQL-database. Most of the scripts

Every task needs a layer in the map. So it could be better you will
choose "infrastructure" for you and add a comment in "Miscellangelous".

Yes, Robert really a great tool.

As I work since some years for the OpenStreetMap community you allow me to
point to great tool from the OSM community. Maybe you can use it for your
needs.

uMap is OSS and if necessary you could host it on your own servers.

http://umap.openstreetmap.fr/de/

You allow me to show some expamples:

or

Please see the other examples on uMap as well.

If you need any help from the OSM-Community just ask.

It would be a pleasure to help you. ;-)

Re: [tdf-discuss] LO contributors map

2016-08-13 Thread Marc Paré

Hi Robert and Charles,

Thanks for doing this Robert, it is a great tool!

Just a minor point, I believe it may be better to put the input box for
latitude first and then longitude second as I believe this is the format
followed for geolocation. This will help in minimizing the amount of
errors in setting up the pins when people input the locations.

It may also be good to divide the "infrastructure" category to
"infrastructure" and add "website" or "website development" or something
of the sort. For example, some of us are not part of the infrastructure
team, however, we do input a bit on the website (in my case event
banners) and help out if there is a particular need for help on some
webpages.

I also agree with Charles on putting this on our infra. IMO, for the
growth of marketing teams, it would be very telling as to where the
TDF/LibreOffice should concentrate on building building stronger ties
with regional marketing teams. It is more visual than just staring at a
list and may make it easier to see where some marketing support is needed.

Would also be interesting to the general public to see if they had
access to it on the LibreOffice site.

Cheers,

Marc

Have added a field for an anchor (link) and for linktext, which should
be shown for this anchor.

Yes, that is also one way.

Yes, homepage. Also link to geopraphical location on the map could be
used next of postal address (possibly autodetection according entered
address like Google Calendar does).

Even HTML would be fine.

Long list is currently at
http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/professional-support/ website where
all the names are in long list and it is not very comfortable to search
from that list.

I mean the address http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/professional-support/
Filtering is not currently possible as there is just long list of names
and addresses in two columns. Yes - I can use CTRL+F but it is not sort
of filtering actually...
If there could be created a drop-down menu for filtering in the
beginning of that long list of names then I would understand that there
is some kind of filtering but even that would not be as comfortable as
layers on map.

Would be no problem. I haven't added more than the e-mail, because I
thought this would be enough information to contact somebody. Could be
added a field for more information, which musn't be linked in any way.

Way to show someone the right address at this moment: Put the Icon
direktly to the point were you live. It will show street and number if
you zoom in.

What do you mean with hyperlink - link to a homepage?

Name must be unique. So I thought to add the town to the names would
be a good idea. If there will be someone with the same name there must
be added a number or something else:
Rob Mayer
Rob Mayer 1
...

A hyperlink must be added in a separate field. It will be easier to me
to set a link in html for it.

We have tried it first in 2014. Other people worked for adding it. The
last mail I got: It is nearly ready - and then nothing else.
/professional-support won't be the right place. The whole community
could be added. I don't have anything to do with professional support.
I only help other people to use Base.

What do you mean with "long list"?

This I haven't understand. You could filter at the left of the page
for tasks and components of LO.

I don't know if I have any identity in "TDF-related environments". One
here for ODF Authors, one for Silverstripe, one for
wiki.documentfoundations.org ...
People who have added themselves at this moment to the map musn't have
any identity in any other environments. The username and the crypted
password are saved separately in a MySQL-database.

Re: [tdf-discuss] LO contributors map

2016-08-09 Thread Edmund Laugasson
Dear all,

Would it be possible to add also hyperlink, address, other contacts than
e-mail - to map? Currently it looks not very good if address is added to
name itself.

I propose to add such custom fields whenever someone would like to fill
them. Probably it would be easier to allow to add custom fields and if
hyperlink is identified then it shows it. You may also turn off any link
identification for possible security reasons.

Also I propose to move that map to TDF server and make it accessible at
http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/professional-support/ website. It
would be much better and more usable than long list.

One development idea. Probably it would be possible to add two layers
onto map: /certified developers/ and /certified migration
professionals/? Then it would be easily possible to filter out certain
group of professionals according interest. For compatibility reasons the
list can also remain accessible e.g. at sub-page. This in turn requires
also to improve the entry and add certain values there to make filtering
possible.

Actually it would be good to make authentication easier - e.g. use same
identity as I log in other TDF-related environments. Here comes probably
another development idea - create a TDF ID which authenticates from
TDF's OpenLDAP server.

1. Get location with navigator.geolocation. A popup of the browser
will ask, if it might locate you. Then set the location with center
to your location.

Start for this:
http://robert.familiegrosskopf.de/map_3/
then change map_3.php in the location of the browser to map_3_center.php

2. Dont switch the center, but set zoom up so we could see nearly
whole Europe. No popup would appear, so no moving of the mouse to
the popup is required. One click less than before.

Start for this:
http://robert.familiegrosskopf.de/map_3/

If you use the direct link the width and height of your browser-window
won't be recognized. So the map wouldn't appear in the right width and
hight.

Start for this:

If you use the direct link the width and height of your browser-window
won't be recognized. So the map wouldn't appear in the right width and
hight.

Hi *,

some new entrys on
http://robert.familiegrosskopf.de/map_3/
When I saw the locations, following problem occurs for me:
Some markers couldn't be seen whith the standard center and zoom of
the map. Two ways for a solution:

1. Get location with navigator.geolocation. A popup of the browser
will ask, if it might locate you. Then set the location with center to
your location.

2. Dont switch the center, but set zoom up so we could see nearly
whole Europe. No popup would appear, so no moving of the mouse to the
popup is required. One click less than before.

What would you prefer?

Don't know where you entered your details. There seems to be no entry
at all from you. Did you try in the upper right corner "edit"?

Hi Robert,

Great idea, maybe it is worth promoting it in Brno.
I entered my details but they were not saved.
Is there any trick?

Many thanks

Hello Robert,

Thanks for doing this! I think we should host this on our infra. In any
case, I'll forward this to other mailing list that may reach active
